news from the office

WWOOF UK now has its very own YouTube channel. WWOOFer Emma Johnson joined us for the Members Weekend in September and filmed interviews with some hosts while she was there as well as others elsewhere. Since then she has also made a beautiful little film that summarises the atmosphere of the event. You can see all of them here www.youtube.com/channel/UCKg4RpX0VaGRwHvGJ0J-imQ Thanks Emma!

Mike, Amanda and Scarlett have worked together to decide which photos should be included in our first ever WWOOF UK calendar and Mike has compiled and designed the calendar for us. On sale now! Buy some here

We’ve launched our Regional Host Contact page where hosts can find their RHC’s contact details using the find my RHC link on their My Tools menu. We’ll also be posting details of regional gatherings on this page; there are quite a few planned so please check.

After careful consideration, and with some reluctance, we decided it would be best to make the website forum available to members only; you’ll still be able to see it when you are logged in to your account and we hope it will become a useful place for information exchange. Amanda will post details of regional gatherings on the forum as they are confirmed and we hope more WWOOFers will join in with them.

We’ve developed various aspects of the website recently making it possible to launch our gift memberships for sale in time for the festive season; added a new field for the host listings to collect information about hosts who are interested in being involved in group WWOOFing and supported all the other ventures described here! Our IT support person, Chris Cant, is infinitely patient and inventive! Thanks Chris.

And also insurance for WWOOFers; we have been debating whether WWOOF UK should join a new scheme operated by the Federation of WWOOF Organisations. We’d love to know what you think. Please help us by completing our surveyby 13th December 2015.
