Happy Birthday WWOOF! As an organisation you have changed and enriched our lives. We have been hosts for two years and three months. We are really grateful and excited by the progress on our croft that the additional assistance of volunteers has made possible.
We have aimed to take a volunteer for a couple of weeks each month and have met so many interesting people of a wide range of ages, experience and nationality.
One of the benefits that we had not envisaged has been that as we make much more progress with our tasks than we did previously, we have been able to take ‘days off’ ourselves and take volunteers out to places of interest.
This has allowed us to have regular visits to our Island’s beautiful beaches and archaeological sites and allowed volunteers to see more of local interest without being limited by public transport timetables.
We have new insights into life in a variety of countries and have already visited places abroad we have never been before, in order to keep in touch with WWOOFers we have hosted.
Many skills have been shared by us and with us and we have made friendships which we expect to last a life time.
