This autumn will bring the chance for WWOOF UK and the Permaculture Association to work together, as we collectively celebrate our members at a shared Members Gathering and AGM in Leeds.
The two organisations have been treading the same path since their inception – both support a diverse and inspiring membership to live sustainably and fairly, respecting nature’s systems, and to share those ethics and principles with the wider public so that more people can benefit now and in the future. And in these times of uncertainty about that future – whether that’s politically or environmentally – taking each others hands and sharing the journey feel like the absolutely best way to travel.
At this collaborative Members Gathering, members from both organisations will have the chance to come together and share experiences (and lunch!), and there will be a choice of workshops and talks to tickle your fancy. We’ll give more detail on this nearer the time, but to give you a taster, themes for the day will be; ‘joining forces’ and ‘tree planting’. Yes, even in the middle of the city, there will be some tree planting to do! Permaculture Association will be incorporating their annual mass-tree-planting activity into the Gathering, and the hope is that together we can be part of the solution to improving our environment one tree at a time.
The Members Gathering and AGM will be held in Woodhouse Community Centre in central Leeds on Saturday 16th November – put the date on your calendar and in your diary, as it’ll be a day you won’t want to miss if you can help it!
Tickets for the event will be very reasonably priced, but numbers will be limited – they’ll go on sale soon so keep an eye on the events page of the WWOOF website and your inbox.
