Job Opportunity: Full-time Farm Manager, Cambridgeshire

Farm Manager: Full-time permanent position.

At Flourish Produce we grow vegetables, salads, herbs and edible flowers for chefs and restaurants. Due to Covid 19 we are also currently selling vegetable boxes.

This is a new role on the farm with all management previously being done by the owner. As our farm has expanded, we are looking for someone with at least 4 years of commercial growing experience to take on some of the operational managerial tasks in addition to being very hands-on. We are looking for an honest, hard working, dedicated farmer who is excited about interesting produce and regenerative agriculture.

 

Tasks will include and extend beyond:

Working closely with the owner to set annual, quarterly, monthly, and weekly production and management goals and effectively plan for their execution.

Oversee some of the administrative duties of running a small business such as; data collection, ordering, stock control, health and safety, etc.

Ensure that all tools and equipment are maintained to the highest levels and that the farm stays safe, clean, and organised.

Management of a team of seasonal employees and volunteers: interviewing, scheduling and farm orientation.

Infrastructure projects- putting up poly tunnels, and basic carpentry, irrigation installation and management.

Tractor operations and maintenance.

Crop work including planting, cultivating, harvesting etc.

The right applicant will have:

Ability to self-motivate and work alone or with a team.

General handiness and excellent problem solving skills.

Must have light carpentry and general maintenance experience.

Must have experience managing several staff members.

Able to work in all weather conditions and be able to perform strenuous tasks.

Must be able to lift a minimum of 25kg.

Knowledge of farm machinery and operation of farm equipment.

Able to prioritise effectively.

Excellent communication skills.

A keen eye for detail.

 

Must be very reliable, dependable and morally sound.

This is a full time position and we are offering a cottage with this role.
