The Self Sufficient Hub Podcast

Sep 21, 2021

WWOOFING with WWOOF UK’s Scarlett Penn is the title of the latest podcast by Self Sufficient Hub.

Carl Mintern runs Self Sufficient Hub, a podcast and Youtube channel, very popular with smallholders and homesteaders around the world.

During this 35 minute informal interview with our co-ordinator, Scarlett, we are taken on a guided tour around the non-monetary exchange that is WWOOF and how it actually works; for volunteers when they are visiting and emersing themselves in an alternative way of living and also the host farmers and smallholders who benefit from the offers of help and share their homes.

Scarlett explains a little about access to WWOOF UK including a mention of allotmenteers, who many don’t realise are welcome to join as hosts, and goes on to give out the detail on how to join up. Essentially listening for anyone thinking about sharing their passion for growing food with others keen to learn.
