Farming The Future are recruiting!

Farming the Future is a collaboration that brings together funders, social movement builders and the UK’s agroecological food and farming sector to realise an equitable and regenerative food system that benefits both people and the planet.

We pool funds, knowledge, and networks, while questioning conventional philanthropy. We are experimenting with ways to support the movement, including and beyond funding. All our work is informed by our core values of equity and justice.

The collaborative was established in 2019. After its initial incubation within the A Team Foundation, Farming the Future’s fiscal sponsorship transferred to Prism the Gift Fund in 2021 to better recognise its financial independence. The collective has now expanded to include the A Team Foundation, the Roddick Foundation, Thirty Percy, Savitri Trust, Be The Earth, Bertha Earth, the Kreitman Foundation and a number of private individuals.

The A Team Foundation, as a co-founder of Farming the Future, was awarded funding from The National Lottery Community Fund’s Growing Great Ideas programmes in 2021.

Farming the Future – Director

This is an exciting time to join Farming The Future. Having recently undertaken a review of our collective purpose and values, we now need someone to lead a major phase of work to understand the needs of the UK’s agroecological movement and to determine how Farming the Future might play a unique and catalytic role to support its success.

We expect the initial phase of work will lead to a number of further projects, including evolving/re-designing Farming the Future’s model for resource distribution and decision-making, working with our Ambassadors to support movement and field-building, and developing the capacity and skills of the wider agroecological movement. You will hold our core values of equity and justice at the centre of all your work.

Farming The Future thanks The National Lottery Community Fund for fully funding this role until July 2025.

Applications close 9am Wednesday 21st September 2022.
