Executive Director, GM Freeze
GM Freeze are looking for the right person to take the reins of the organisation and lead them into the next stage of campaigning.
0.8 FTE, with option to split the role across two posts
£42,000 – 45,000 per year, pro rata
Remote working in the UK
Initial 12 month contract, with extension subject to funding
The Executive Director runs both the campaign and the organisation behind it, managing one other staff member and reporting to the voluntary Management Committee. This is an unusually varied job offering the chance to use and develop your skills in campaigning and advocacy; fundraising and communications; governance and finance. Ongoing political developments are removing key safeguards and increasing the likelihood that GMOs will be produced and marketed in the UK. The work that the new Executive Director does will make a real difference to protecting our food, our farms and our right to choose.
We are looking for experience of delivering campaigns, partnership working and income generation alongside skills in strategic thinking and communications. It is vital that our new Executive Director is committed to the aims and objectives of GM Freeze but candidates don’t need to be experts in the field. In return, we offer a high degree of autonomy, flexible remote working and a supportive Management Committee. More information about this role can be found on the GM Freeze website.
The deadline for applying for this role is 10am Monday 10th July 2023

Groundswell is a practical show aimed at anyone who wants to understand the farmer’s core asset, the soil, and make better informed decisions. It is a two-day event featuring talks, forums and discussions from leading international soil health experts, experienced arable and livestock farmers, agricultural policy experts, direct-drill demonstrations and AgTech innovators. The event will include discussion on a variety of topics including soil health, water systems, fibre farming, nutrition, supply chains and landscape-scale regeneration, to name but a few.
