New one-day short courses at the Centre for Alternative Technology
There are 3 new courses: Our new Wild Wellbeing: A Day Out In Nature and Wild Wellbeing: Rustic Bench Making courses provide you with a chance to focus on personal wellbeing while learning new skills in CAT’s stunning natural setting.
Our new Seed Saving Day course can help you get started saving, drying and storing seeds, while exploring the benefits of growing heritage seed varieties.

Community Trees Officer – Energy Garden, London
Energy Garden works across London to transform Overground platforms into vibrant and biodiverse community gardens for the benefit of local people, commuters and nature. As our first Community Trees Officer, you will play an important role in every aspect of the development and maintenance of our urban ‘Energy Orchards’.
Salary: £36,000- 39,000 per annum, negotiable based on experience
Hours: Full Time (5 days / 40 hours per week)
Contract: Permanent

Festival of Commoning
A Celebration of People acting Together to Build Commons of all Kinds – Conference, Exhibition, Speakers, Workshops, Comedy, Arts, Ceilidh, Music

Across the UK, groups are working together to provide the basics of life, for and with their communities. Land, buildings, food, water, transport, care, education, broadband, housing, energy – people are coming together to provide for themselves.
This is intensely local work, but we can learn so much from each other, gain inspiration, share wisdom, gain strength from each other. We might even seed a movement!

Emergent Generation Summer Gathering
Conygree Farm, Gloucestershire.
12th – 14th September 2024
Are you 18-35 and passionate about food systems? Then Emergent Generation‘s summer gathering might be for you! Join likeminded young people to explore topics including regenerative farming and ethnic diversity in the sector plus activities of yoga, stone walling and a screening of Six Inches of Soil. Includes keynote speaker Sue Pritchard, chief exec of the Food Farming and Countryside Commission and long time WWOOF host plus there’s a site visit to The Sandy Hill Mob, agroecological farmers and nearby WWOOF hosts.

Accredited Introduction to Permaculture Course
Hwb Dysgu’r Tir, Tegryn, Pembrokeshire
14th – 15th September 2024
The course is run by Cwm Arian Renewable Energy and will be taught by Neil and Dina Kingsnorth, permaculture teachers and WWOOF hosts, who co-run a permaculture-designed smallholding and tree nursery in mid-Pembrokeshire, and co-lead Patch of the Planet, a project to help nature to recover by changing how we garden. Also teaching will be Caz Wyatt, off grid smallholder, grower, forager, forest gardener, brewer and shepherdess.

Part-time Grower – Sims Hill Shared Harvest, Bristol
Sims Hill Shared Harvest is a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) run using a cooperative structure, based in Frenchay on the edge of Bristol. We are recruiting a grower to collaboratively work with our existing growing team of two other part -time growers to run our farm.
Part-time fixed term contract (October 2024 – February 2026)
Start date: 2nd October 2024
Hours: 8 hours per day, fixed days – Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday
5 Winter months (Oct-Feb) 2.5 days per week
7 Summer months (Mar-Oct) 3 days per week.
Pay: £11.76 per hour (to be reviewed for 2025)
Closing date for applications is 9am 15th August 2024. Interviews will be held week commencing 19th August.

The Midlands Permaculture Festival 2024
Belper Lane End, Derbyshire

We’re hosting at our garden and plant nursery, along with help from our neighbours.
This is not a festival in a field with big stages. It’s a small festival with big positive impact. It’s a convergence, bringing people and solutions together. We expect we will reach our capacity and allocate all tickets.
Meet others, hear stories, share lunch, cakes and teas, get hands-on in practical workshops.

Wales Permaculture Festival 2024

Join us for our annual get together of all things permaculture, with a fantastic lineup of inspirational speakers and practical skills based workshops, showcasing the best of permaculture across Wales and beyond. This will be the UK’s only dedicated permaculture gathering this year and it’s shaping up to be an amazing event!
Come and camp with us under clear starry skies with great local food, great music and great company. Based at Three Pools permaculture farm in Abergavenny, a regenerative farm that shows what can be possible when scaling up permaculture to farm scale.

They might be seen by people who’ve never heard of WWOOF and, thanks to you, they’ll discover options in life they never knew existed!!!
