At WWOOF UK, we’re looking for two new team members to join us during an important period of transition.
We’re recruiting for two maternity cover roles: an Interim Director and a HR & Organisational Administrator – both of which are central to the smooth running and continued development of our organisation. These roles offer a unique opportunity to contribute to a small, collaborative team working to promote sustainable agriculture, cultural exchange, and global community.
About the Roles
Interim Director (2.5 days per week)
This is a key leadership role within WWOOF UK. As Interim Director, you’ll oversee the day-to-day running of the organisation, support the staff team, and work closely with our Board of Trustees. You’ll help guide the organisation through a period of transition, ensuring stability, clear communication, and effective delivery of our strategic priorities.
Alongside this, you’ll lead an exciting area of development within our strategy: Educational Pathways. This includes shaping projects, identifying opportunities for growth, and securing grant funding to support this work.
HR & Organisational Administrator (1.5 days per week)
This role focuses on the systems and processes that keep WWOOF UK running smoothly. You’ll lead on HR administration, maintain organisational compliance (including GDPR), support meetings and governance, and act as a key contact for member relations, including complaints and immigration-related matters.
It’s a varied and detail-focused role, ideal for someone who enjoys creating structure and ensuring everything works effectively behind the scenes.
Working at WWOOF UK
Both roles are:
- Remote (UK-based) with occasional travel
- Flexible in working pattern, with one weekly core team day
- Starting in mid-August 2026
- Offered as fixed-term contracts (52 weeks) with additional handover weeks
In line with our values, WWOOF UK operates a flat pay structure, with all team members paid at £20.60 per hour.
As a small organisation, we value collaboration, transparency, and mutual support. These roles offer the chance to make a real impact, whether through strengthening our internal systems or helping shape the future direction of our work.
Who We’re Looking For
We’re seeking people who are:
- Organised, proactive, and able to manage a varied workload
- Strong communicators, with a collaborative approach
- Motivated by meaningful, values-led work
- Aligned with WWOOF UK’s mission and ethos
Experience in the charity sector, HR, organisational management, leadership, or project development will be particularly valuable, depending on the role.
An understanding of WWOOF, whether as a volunteer or host, is welcomed!
